The Message That Made Our Day: BMW Wins Logistics Prize 2019
When one of our customers is awarded a prestigious prize, the whole KINEXON family is cheering, too. Especially when our technology made a decisive contribution…
This morning, the day started extraordinary well thanks to this news about our customer BMW: The 2019 Logistics Prize of the German Logistics Association (BVL) goes to the BMW Group! The prize is awarded to the Munich-based automobile manufacturer for its “Logistics Next” transport and intralogistics project. The jury described it as an excellent example of an advanced digital transformation.
As one of BMW’s system partners, we have the honor of contributing to this project in several technologies. Together with BMW, we developed the guideline-free control of smart transport robots (STR) and continuously support industry 4.0 concepts and innovations in areas such as AI, intelligent process automation and driverless transport systems (DTS).
We therefore know a large part of the project team for years. We know how much passion and ambition all those involved put in to get to today’s level of innovation in just three years. Our greatest respect and recognition for this extraordinary achievement! And from the entire KINEXON team:
Congratulations!
Matthias Wissmann, VDA President and CEO of BVL, summed it up very well in his statement:
“The long-term nature of the objectives and plans, the consistency in implementation, the enthusiasm of the project participants and their team spirit are refreshing, innovative and exemplary — as is the cross-location cooperation between production, logistics and IT. This is what convinced us.”
The vote of the jury was even unanimous in the second round. There is nothing more to add. We are proud of such a cooperation and look forward to the next steps. Of course we can not reveal more. 😉
